Eagles place third at State Esports Tournament
Aberdeen Central High School hosted the S.D. State Esports Tournament, and the Golden Eagles Esports Team did an outstanding job – including State Champions Connor Austin and Joey Pierce! The team finished third, and Rocket League and Minecraft were both runners up. Congratulations and great job, Golden Eagles!
Aberdeen Central's Educators Rising Team receives Gold Outstanding Chapter Award
Aberdeen Central High School had a strong showing at the State Educators Rising Conference, with the team receiving the Gold Outstanding Chapter award! Kylie Clemens earned first place and qualified for Nationals in STEM Lesson Planning. Kylie and Teagan Braun both got a gold for Interactive Bulletin Board, with Clemens qualifying for Nationals in that category as well. Congratulations! Learn more here.
CHS Oral Interp students qualify for Nationals
Congratulations to CHS Oral Interp students Coen Vogel and Faith Waldner, who both qualified for Nationals! Coen won 1st Place in POI, and Faith won 2nd Place in Drama! Coen also won 3rd place in Humor (and alternate for Nationals). Bryson Hanson won 4th place in Humor, Taylor Tullar won 5th place in Drama, Hayden Magee won 6th place in Drama, and Tucker Reyelts and Hale Haugen won 5th place in Duo. Great job, Golden Eagles!

Simmons Middle School held Dream Big Week in February, which included students filling out mock job applications and visiting with NSU representatives, including Thunder!
Golden Eagle students perform in Pierre
Twice in February, Aberdeen Public School District students performed in Pierre! Aberdeen Central students Mason Ligon and Grady Anderson joined members of the SDSU and NSU trumpet sections in playing fanfares for the governor's inauguration. Also, the Aberdeen Public Schools Elementary Choir performed on Aberdeen Day. Great job, Golden Eagles!

Holgate students hold Golden Eagle Awards
Holgate Middle School seventh-grade language arts students held the annual Golden Eagle Awards. Nine student finalists presented famous people who have made a positive difference in the world and whom they believe deserved to win the award.
