Aberdeen Central High School’s ATEC Academy has been named the winner of the 2025 Community Impact Award! The award, given each year by the Aberdeen Area Chamber of Commerce, was announced at the Chamber’s annual ABBY Awards Banquet in April. Congratulations! Read more here.
The Aberdeen School Board recognized Upper Midwest Student Production Award winners on Monday! The winners are CHS Eagle Zone students Preston Brake, Gavin Bitz, Joseph Pierce and Delaney Johnson, as well as Zoe Stucke, Tristan Cunningham, Colby Dauwen, Cooper Fosher, Owen Deutsch and Brock Anderson. Congratulations!
Also Monday, the School Board recognized State FBLA Champions Eve Borchard, Mya Heinzman, Baeten Klatt, Collin Hjermstad, Paisley LaFave, Landon Madsen, Brealynn Malsbury, Amna George, Aglaia Ramey, Eh Tenna Sweedee, Evie Moe, Mason Moe, Nang Naing, Deqa Suleiman, Heegeon Song and Kaitlynn Wollman. Congratulations!
Two ATEC students received first place at the recent South Dakota SkillsUSA state competition: Porter Kolb, first place in Auto Service Technology; and Conner Miller, first place in Auto Maintenance and Light Repair! They will now be competing at the Nationals SkillsUSA competition, held June 23-27 in Atlanta, Georgia. Also receiving honors at the state level were juniors Jacob Hieb (third place, Auto Maintenance and Light Repair) and Bailey Gillen (third place, Carpentry). Congratulations!

A team of Aberdeen Public School District educators has been working hard behind the scenes to improve outcomes in reading and writing among students.
