From the Principals’ Desks |
It’s hard to believe we’ve already wrapped up the first quarter! October flew by, but not without some amazing moments, celebrations, and community events that made us so proud! Thank you to all who attended Parent-Teacher Conferences! We love when students join the conversation, as it gives them ownership of their learning (and the homework passes didn’t hurt either!). Our teachers appreciated the opportunity to share the great things happening in their classrooms. Another big thank-you goes out to our PTA for providing a delicious staff meal on such a long day. Your support means so much!

Bullying Prevention Month
We want to give a special shoutout to Mrs. Samson and our Achieve class for leading the charge during Bullying Prevention Month. Their thoughtful activities helped spread kindness and build awareness throughout our school. Our 6th graders even teamed up with our 8th grade Golden Crew mentors for a meaningful lesson on standing up for one another, and our students showed their unity during our Blue Out Day by proudly wearing blue and taking a stand for kindness. We're so proud of their leadership and heart.

Our Family Spooky STEM Night was a blast! From building catapults to launching candy pumpkins across the gym, it was a fun-filled evening of hands-on learning and laughter. Huge thanks to our Family Engagement Committee for organizing such a successful night. |
We also had an incredible time at our SMS Fall Social: Graveyard Groove. Our students danced, played games, and enjoyed face painting, trivia, and concessions (with plenty of K-pop Demon Hunter moves lighting up the gym!). A huge thank-you to our Student Senate for planning the event and to our PTA and parent volunteers for helping make it all run smoothly. |

Looking Ahead: November Highlights
We’re looking forward to a wonderful November filled with meaningful activities and celebrations. Our Veteran's Day Assembly is coming soon! Homerooms are creating a special flag display to honor veterans connected to our students and staff. If you know a veteran you'd like us to recognize, please click here to submit their name. Students will also be learning more about the significance of Veteran's Day and the importance of honoring those who have served.
The second quarter is off to a great start, and we’re feeling thankful for our incredible staff, our supportive families, and our hardworking students. November is a time to pause and reflect on what truly matters, and we’re grateful to be part of such a strong, caring school community. We wish all of our families a restful and relaxing Thanksgiving break!
